I recently purchase a property from interstate and requested a pest and building inspection. The property manager that sold the house on behalf of a elderly couple went around to have a cup of tea with the owners and contacted myself saying what a polite and honest man Pietro was and a pleasure to have him inspected the property. Not only did he give myself a same day service full written report Pietro found a package containing a sum of money and a couple of item belonging the the elderly couple in the roof while inspecting it.He handed it back with a smile. This is the most honest quick and reliable service a great business needs.Thankyou Pietro 5 stars.

I highly recommend Pierus. They were easy to deal with, extremely responsive and knowledgeable. We received the report on the same day as the inspection and the inspector, Russell was happy to talk through the report and help answer our questions. Pricing was good too.

FAQ

Can you perform same-day inspections?

Yes. Pierus is focused on getting you the highest quality, detailed practical completion inspection reports within 24 hours.

What do you include in the PCI report?

For all PCI reports, we document our finding, defects and commentary in plain-english. Our practical completion inspection report also includes comprehensive and full photo reports.

Why do I need a Practical Completion Inspection?

You have just invested in what is likely the single largest investment of your life – your new house.

The PCI is a reconciliation of the major construction items with a focus on the finish of key items in the construction.

Practical Completion Inspection also known as (PCI) or handover inspection is an inspection of the building work done on your new home just prior to you taking possession of your property from the builder.

A PCI is an important and not to be ignored report carried out on a newly build home, when a build reached practical completion, the builder or building supervisor should let you know. The point of a PCI is not to pick on the builder, finding bad workmanship will be flagged as well as any other defect found including the cleanliness and state of the home, the main purpose is to determine if the home is free of major defects, is safe, and is fit for occupation.

Although we highly recommend you also perform a construction progress inspection at each stage of the build, if you just want a PCI at the conclusion of the build, this is still a very valuable tool to ensure the build quality is up to scratch. We are able to find defects, workmanship quality, allowable tolerances, and more.

What is the cost?

Practical Completion Inspection (PCI) costs $495+GST

Don’t forget, we beat any price!

When is a practical completion inspection required?

At the completion of the build, right before you take possession of the house from the builder.

If I have done construction progress reports, do I still need a PCI?

A practical completion inspection (PCI) is not designed to replace the checks conducted during the various construction progress inspections, also known as stage inspections, given time restrictions that often exist at many PCI’s and the fact that many of the constructed items are no longer visible at the PCI stage, the ability to check an item may be severely restricted or compromised. As such, although a PCI is a vital inspection, it is strongly recommended that construction progress inspection is considered for any build.
